1. If You’re a Good Swimmer, an Ocean Photoshoot is for You!
This type of adventure photoshoot is not for the faint of heart! Being a strong and confident swimmer is a must in order to get those deep, expansive ocean portraits. The sea is powerful and can take you further out without any warning - especially when you’re swimming at depths of 8-10 feet in order to get those epic shots.
Not everyone is a great swimmer and that’s okay - which is why I do offer shallow water beach photoshoots. These portraits will not be as expansive as the deeper ocean images, but are still stunning none-the-less!
2. Depending on Where You Book Your Underwater Photoshoot, a Passport May Be Required
The great thing about ocean photoshoots is that they can take you anywhere! Whether you’re looking to book this experience stateside in the Florida Keys, on a Hawaiian Island, or a tropical paradise in the middle of the Caribbean (Bonaire, Curacao, the US Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas are amazing options!) - we can make that happen. All you need is a passport in hand, and I can help you plan the rest!
3. Be Mindful of What Time of Year You Book This Type of Adventure Photoshoot
Mother Nature can be unpredictable, which is why I always recommend purchasing travel insurance when booking your shoot! If there's one thing we can always count on, it's hurricane season. Hurricane season typically takes place between early June and late November, but it’s important to note how and when it affects your desired location.
If you're unsure of what time of year will be best, feel free to reach out to me to chat. With these types of underwater photography sessions, the better the water visibility, the better the images.
